# Phase 2: the audience enters the system

## Narrative purpose

Made Sick Phase 2 is an independent participatory story layer for the wider Urban Alien Adventures ecosystem. Its role is to make an audience feel present inside the system rather than merely shown a campaign. The reference points are the in-world collective feeling associated with *Mr. Robot*'s fsociety, the app-and-window legibility of Aether OS, and the participatory treasure-hunt structure surrounding Ren's Money Game era.

These are creative references, not claims of ownership, authorization, affiliation, or canon. Made Sick must never present itself as Ren, Sick Boi, *Mr. Robot*, fsociety, Aether OS, or their representatives.

## Participant route

1. **Recognize:** inspect sourced public records without being treated as enrolled.
2. **Participate:** make distinct choices about directory presence, Duet invitations, gameplay references, and third-party connections.
3. **Transmit:** use creator-owned services for writing, live video, and private communication.
4. **Withdraw:** unload third-party media, delete local records, revoke directory permission, or close contact without surrendering the underlying identity.

## Germ boundary

- Default state is closed.
- Made Sick does not display a composer, proxy messages, or operate an inbox.
- A creator can draft a policy locally, but the real policy and card exchange are configured in Germ.
- New contact is available only under the recipient's published Germ policy or through a card/link they intentionally exchange.
- Germ message content, cards, keys, contact relationships, and activity are never Made Sick profile data.
- End-to-end encryption does not prevent a recipient from saving or sharing received content.
- DMs are not therapy, crisis response, participant research, evidence submission, or a route for sending medical records.

## ARG safety contract

Phase 2 may use puzzles, hidden connections, staged transmissions, timed reveals, and fictional system language. It may not require or reward:

- impersonation or deceptive claims of official affiliation;
- trespass, surveillance, doxxing, harassment, or contacting uninvolved people;
- disclosure of passwords, recovery codes, medical information, precise location, or government identity;
- purchases, cryptocurrency transfers, donations, or urgent financial action to progress;
- self-harm, substance use, dangerous physical tasks, or interference with care;
- treating fictional urgency as a real emergency; or
- moving a participant into private contact without informed, reversible consent.

Every activation must identify the organizer, the fictional frame, applicable content notes, privacy boundaries, accessibility route, moderation contact, and a way to leave.
